heystasa: (I'm hugely confused)

Tonight, my sister (who is here staying with me for the week - yay! More on that later, but for now let it be known that this is partially why I've not been online much. The rest of the reason has to do with what a particularily astute and surprised Telstra man called "my Building's hodge podge, insane mess of a wiring system" that has ensured I've not been getting any bills and therefore not paying so Telstra cut my phone off. ANYWAY) and I went to the movies.

We saw 17 Again, which was actually really good. The idea's a huge cliche`, but the execution was great, and it was clever, very funny, and I liked it far, far more than I expected. The subplot with the friend and the principal was especially inspired. Also, Matthew Perry. Seriously you guys, I highly recommened it. (To everyone but K, because embarrassment squick liek whoa. It could have been so, so much worse, but I was still hugging my legs a lot in it)

However, while watching it, I realised something strange and rather unexpected: I think I find Zac Efron hot.

Like, really, seriously attractive. Not in the Highschool Musical movies era, because yeahno, but in this? He is gorgeous. Especially at the beginning with the curly hair. He has a really long body, which I soooo like in a man (possibly we could trace this back to anime, but we don't need to go there), and moves really well (fecking cool dance scene at the start, yo), and has good timing delivery and a good voice and is a savvy guy who is good at his job, and in this he had that paternal thing going on, which is really very nice and. Um, yeah. He's a bit of alright, I reckon.

Also, for the first like, half an hour or so I was totally shipping him with the blond bully dude.

I am... somewhat mortified at myself. My thirteen year old, Highschool Musical obsessed cousin actually had a point. Which is just not on.

If I start fancying those Zack and Cody kids from the Disney channel someone send help (and possibly the authorities, because, as I said to my cousin when she was fussing over them and asked me "don't you think they're sooo cute, Stell?", honey, if I were to dig them, that would be worrying).

I don't think of Hilary Duff as "hot" (more very very pretty), but she did turn out quite nicely though, and I can see where others might see her differently. Ooh, wait though, what are your thoughts on Justin Timberlake? Does he count, d'you think? Started out with Club Disney, then a boy band (of all things), and has turned into sex on legs.

I think for a lot of girls that like him it's the smile or the eyes, but personally I don't think his eyes are particularily that special, and (though it is a very good smile in other ways) his teeth are so white it's disconcerting. Really, facial features-wise he's not my type (though I can see that he certainly ain't ugly). I noticed him more for his body and his vibe, I think. He's very nicely built - lithe and tall, but strong, and wears his clothes and carries himself well, and has great hair. He has a really nice presence too, and seems to be a legitimately decent actor. It wasn't so much that I liked his face, but more that I liked him, I suppose.

i honestly don't see much in justin timberlake? like, he's cute, i guess, but his smile is just a little too dorky to be anything other than. he can sculpt his body all he wants, but i'll never see him as sexy, just a cute guy with this (http://cm1.theinsider.com/media/0/33/56/justin-shirtless.0.0.0x0.350x541.jpeg) for a body. besides, i always end up connecting him with orlando bloom, and seriously. he's not as sculpted, but COME ON (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/thalassatx/Orli%20Sympathy%20for%20Delicious/mq002.jpg)

his teeth! i know! it's insane. i've never really watched him in anything for more than five minutes, so i can't comment on his overall impression, so i guess i have no real response on that point?

Aww, poor Orlando. He's always getting picked on. It's not his fault he's such a girly-man.

I don't really pay that much attention to JT, but I reckon he's a bit of alright. The shaved head matches his eyebrows, and he has good lips and skin and stubble. I've never really looked at his body though, to be honest, and if you hadn't have pointed it out, I wouldn't have known it was so built. How did I miss that?

Really white teeth freak me out, man.

he is such, such a girly-man. but he pulls it off so well! that, and he's hip-deep in miranda kerr every time he gets the chance, so that sort of makes up for any lack of masculinity he may display every now and then.

don't get me wrong - i admire jt for his sheer goddamn style. when he dresses suave he is seriously amazing. he's just too nice -- actually, i think it's sort of like you and hugh. i appreciate where other people are coming from, but i can't get past the fact that he always looks so incredibly enthusiastically happy when he smiles. i can't find people with that much joie de vivre sexy; it's like objectifying a puppy. (also, i don't know! here, have a shot from the guru (http://towleroad.typepad.com/photos/uncategorized/2008/02/29/justin_timberlake_speedo.jpg). <a href="http://cm1.theinsider.com/media/0/43/65/justin_timberlake_6.0.0.0x0.393x493.jpeg>and this) they're just weird

jskafbkjsc the STUBBLE. Do you not see the stubble? And with and the and THE STUBBLE.

Godammit. I'm not even that hugely in to JT, but then you go and bring out damn stubble and coherency goes out the window. I'm a sucker for a man with good stubble.

BUT! I actually like JT's goofiness. If I were more awake I would gather some links to further elaborate on the many joys of goofiness, but I'm not, so, I'll just tell you. Um... yeah. A bit of goofiness is ace. Possibly it's some maternal girly thing, but I have a real soft spot for it, especially from a guy who's usually more suave or solemn.

(God, I need to go to bed. Train of thoughts aren't going well and I have lost the ability to form wit or simile)

i haven't shaved in four days (it's been a really lazy week), where's my gibbering stella?!

see, if you want goofiness from a guy who's more suave or stern, you go for like... liam neeson. seriously, his performance in love actually is probably my favourite part of the movie all-up - bill nighy's storyline is my favourite, and hugh grant's girl is friggin' hot, but seriously. liam neeson being a caring, cool father. come on. i know he's not exactly a spring chicken, but it's so awesome.

(go! nestle all snug in your bed! with visions of timberlakes danc(...ing) in your head!)
